Specifications, sources & model shortlist
A gulf sail can be enough
Saint-Tropez does not have to be one stop in a long list of destinations. A sailing outing can use the gulf as its main setting, allowing the skipper to choose a course for the conditions and leave time for a comfortable stop. The changing view towards the town and surrounding hills gives even a modest itinerary a sense of place.
More practical details
If Pampelonne is essential, say so when choosing the charter duration. Going beyond the gulf introduces another passage and should leave useful time at the destination. A sailing yacht cannot promise the same journey time in every wind, and motoring may form part of the day when comfort or timing calls for it.
The bathroom plan matters for nights aboard
Lagoon offered three- and four-cabin layouts. Four-cabin versions can also differ in bathroom count, including two- and four-head arrangements. A family sharing facilities may prefer a different balance from four couples, even though the exterior and model name are identical.
More practical details
For an overnight programme, assign rooms before filling the itinerary. Consider who wants a larger principal space, who needs separate beds and where luggage will be stored. The saloon remains a shared room unless a proposed sleeping arrangement explicitly uses it; it should not quietly become an additional private cabin in a comparison.
A shared table close to the sailing experience
The Lagoon 40 places its raised helm on the starboard side above the cockpit, keeping the sailing position near the main outdoor living area. A self-tacking jib forms part of the rig. For guests, the design puts the movement of the yacht close to the social centre of the day without requiring a separate climb to a full flybridge.
More practical details
The cockpit roof provides a defined sheltered setting, while large windows connect the saloon with the surrounding water. At a settled stop, the table can bring the group together for lunch before people return to the forward area or the sea. The actual canvas and cushions determine how much additional shade is available outside the fixed roof.
Understand the compact model's dimensions
The July 2024 manufacturer's standard specification gives 11.74 metres of hull length, 12.75 metres overall with options and a 6.76-metre beam. Stating the measurement basis avoids comparing a hull figure on one yacht with an overall figure on another.
More practical details
A documented Lagoon 40 in the Saint-Raphaël charter market gives this model a regional basis for an enquiry. It does not establish a permanent berth in Saint-Tropez.
